Jannik Sinner joins Big 4 with remarkable feat, becomes one of the only 8 ATP players to ever do it

Jannik Sinner has been on a roll this year. The current world number 1 has achieved some spectacular feats this year. From becoming the first Italian player to win the Australian Open to achieving the top spot in the ATP rankings, Sinner can do no wrong.

The Italian tennis star, nicknamed ‘The Fox’, has been an epitome of consistency in 2024. With the 2024 Australian Open and 2 Masters 1000 titles (2024 Miami Open and 2024 Cincinnati Open) already in the kitty, Sinner has managed to achieve a new career-high. After his straight set win over American Tommy Paul in the round of 16 at the 2024 US Open, Jannik Sinner has joined a list of elites, a feat only few have achieved in the Open Era.

By reaching the quarterfinals of the 2024 US Open, Jannik Sinner has become the eight player ever to reach at least the quarterfinals of all 4 grand slams in a season. In 2024, Sinner managed to win the Australian Open (his maiden grand slam title), reached the semi-finals at the French Open, the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, and has reached the semi-finals of the US Open 2024.

The Big 4 of tennis (Federer, Djokovic, Nadal and Murray) have achieved the same feat and they have done it on multiple occasions throughout their career. Roger Federer leads the list of players to achieve this as he has done it 8 times in his career. Djokovic has repeated the feat 7 times, Nadal on 5 occasions and Murray has done it 4 times.
